چکیده

This paper studies a control problem for the multiclass G/G/1 queue for a risk-sensitive cost of the form n logE exp ∑ i ciX n i (T ), where ci > 0 and T > 0 are constants, X n i denotes the class-i queue length process, and the number of arrivals and service completions per unit time are of order n. The main result is the asymptotic optimality, as n → ∞, of a priority policy, provided that ci are sufficiently large. Such a result has been known only in the Markovian (M/M/1) case. The index which determines the priority is explicitly computed in the case of Gamma distributed inter-arrival and service times. AMS subject classifications: 60F10, 60K25, 49N70, 93E20

On the risk - sensitive cost for a Markovian multiclass queue with priority ∗

A multi-class M/M/1 system, with service rate μin for class-i customers, is considered with the risk-sensitive cost criterion n−1 logE exp ∑ i ciX n i (T ), where ci > 0, T > 0 are constants, andX i (t) denotes the class-i queue-length at time t, assuming the system starts empty. An asymptotic upper bound (as n→ ∞) on the performance under a fixed priority policy is attained, implying that the ...

Queue with Heterogeneous Server Under Resequencing Constraint

In this paper, a markovian queue with two types of servers and buffer space is considered. The resequencing constraint is imposed according to which the customers leave the system in the same order in which they entered it. For finite buffer queue, the steady state queue size distribution has been obtained.?

Marginal productivity index policies for scheduling a multiclass delay-/loss-sensitive queue

This paper addresses the problem of scheduling a Markovian multiclass queue with a finite dedicated buffer for each class, where class-dependent linear holding and rejection cost rates model differing levels of tolerance to delay and loss. The goal is to design well-grounded and tractable scheduling policies that nearly minimize expected total discounted or long-run average cost. New dynamic in...

ANALYSIS OF FINITE BUFFER RENEWAL INPUT QUEUE WITH BALKING AND MARKOVIAN SERVICE PROCESS

This paper presents the analysis of a renewal input  finite buffer queue wherein the customers can decide either to  join the queue with a probability or balk. The service process is Markovian service process ($MSP$) governed  by an underlying $m$-state Markov chain. Employing the supplementary  variable and imbedded Markov chain techniques,   the steady-state system length distributions at pre...

A Study on State Dependent Accessible and Second Optional Service Queue with Impatient and Feedback Customers

In this paper, we study a single server Markovian queue with state dependent accessible services, reneging and feedback of customers. The server can accommodate at the most $d$ customers in the service station, after which the new arrivals have to wait in the primary queue of infinite waiting space. All arrivals demand First Essential Service (FES), after completing FES, customers decide to joi...
